I have also added Tammy Andresen to my list of favorite authors, as her writing style definitely appealed to me as a reader. From well-depicted characters to a plot that was compellingly carried out, I thoroughly enjoyed every scene in the first book of A Laird to Love series.After being a soldier for England, Ewan McDougal is finally able to make his way back to Scotland. The Earl of Dumfries knows his lands need much work to once again be productive, and the best way is to marry a woman with a nice dowry. But before reaching his destination, he stops to assist a disabled carriage. Upon discovering that an English woman is the passenger, he makes assumptions about her based on his dislike for her country. Lady Clarissa Burton has left England to avoid any gossip after an incident, and she also forms an opinion about the Scotsman because of how she currently perceives most men. Though she nor Ewan thought they would ever see each other again, they are in for a surprise.MY ENEMY, MY EARL is an engaging romance that grabbed my attention from the start and held me spellbound all the way through. Ewan is a wonderful hero, and he proves the label should be his over and over again. Besides doing good deeds, he is honest and candid, and this led to some humorous conversations with his best friend. Ewan and Clarissa have some talks filled with quick-wit, too, and I chuckled at some of their rather mocking comments. There are moments when emotions take over a situation, and any events where desire is in control are tenderly passionate. Many of the secondary characters had fascinating personalities, and I hope lots of them get to tell their own stories. I will certainly be reading more of the books in this series.

This was a wonderful Scottish romance and Ewan was an awesome hero. Clarissa and Ewan both had issues to overcome that made the story interesting and made their characters feel real. It was just so beautiful to see how much they began to care about each other and how they tried to understand each other's problems. I found that I enjoyed watching Clarissa get her backbone and to stand up to her father and former betrothed for what she wanted and to finally stop running from her problems. Truly a most enjoyable romance.

I just love Tammy Andresen's books they're just wonderful her story lines are always well thought out they're well written characters are all well defined and I just love this story I'm sitting here at 3:48 in the morning in the bathtub it's my favorite place to read and I just had to get to the end of it that's how I am with her books that's how all of her books are you just have to keep reading until you get to the end then when you get to the end you're sorry it's over you want more so consequently you by the next book because you can't wait to read it I really do love her books she's a fantastic writer she just grips you from the beginning and she grabs your heart and soul into her book I love it I give it 10 Stars if I could

I have not read these books in order and wasn't lost.Not sure if I would say the romance built slowly because it just seemed to happen. There is lovemaking outside of marriage, with heat level 3.5-4 out of 5, not vulgar.We do get HEA, no cheating and no cliffhanger. We have an epilogue 1 year in the future. This is not about clans fighting. There is a villain, but a mild one, little on drama and suspense. (ljb)

Clarissa💃💋 doesn't know it yet and he doesn't know her either, so it's a big surprise the next day when Ewan🐺🍆🌋 is introduced to her as the Earl of Dumfries!Lack of trust by Clarissa💃💋 drives most of the story, since she has been 🔥burned badly once. Ewan🐺🍆🌋 comes on so strong to Clarissa💃💋 that she thinks he is another rake that will only break her heart💔 again.

Evan and Clarissa.Great start to the series. It was not love at first sight, they were both battling their pasts. But slowly broke down each others walls and found love.Very likeable main characters, and secondary characters which made me download the rest of the series. A great way to spend a couple hours.

This is the first book I've read by this author. She is going to easily become a new favorite. This is such a good read and you're drawn into the lives of the characters from the start. There are some hot scenes and a slimy villain to keep you on the edge. Definitely recommend!

Everything Tammy writes is amazing. And My Enemy, My Earl is amazing. Thank you Tammy for introducing PTSD, because it has been hurting men from the first wars. I highly recommend this book 💖💖💖

Little did I realize in 1977 when I was Kevin’s high school baseball coach that one day, over 40 years later, I’d be writing this review. Having been familiar with his passion for baseball and autograph acquisition, and by the way he was a better player than he alludes to in the book, I was very much looking forward to reading his accounts. It is an understatement to say what a joy it was to see all of this in print. I read every word, many more than once, over two evenings and marveled at the stories. Absolutely a must read for baseball fans. It will warm your soul. Great job Keats!!

When I found out that Kevin had written a book, I was curious since I have known him for a long time. His love of baseball was evident nearly 40 years ago when I first met him. He is a trusted person as an expert in his field and an honest person in real life. I am not even a baseball fan, but this book is an interesting read. It is interesting because it provides insights into people who are respected for their sport. Kevin pulls you into the lives of these great athletes and shows their humanity and respect for the game. For me, it is also a deep, insightful collection of stories that we all know were true because Kevin would never write anything except the truth.

I found it interesting that the author developed friendships with many of the baseball players he received autographs from. I read where he has over 10,000 autographs in his collection. I was hoping he would show some photos of his collection. Are they in a mancave? Or are they in more than one room? I would think that many autographs would take up some serious space. Did the author receive that many autographs thru the mail or where they acquired thru EBAY? Hopefully his upcoming Volume 2 book will have photos of his collection.

The child in all of us can fully appreciate this delightful book!If you ever dreamed of meeting one of your idols you will relish the richly told tales recounted by Mr. Keating in Waiting For A Sign.This book is a gem for baseball lovers young and old, it shares a slice of personal baseball history never before told and entertains from start to finish.Waiting For A Sign deserves a spot on your bookshelf!

This book is such a wonderful gift to baseball as the game Kevin describes is so different from that of today. It would be a great gift for every grandfather to give to their grandkids. How many wonderful conversations will come from a Q. and A. about the players from these stories.At a personal level, I felt I was reading a Pop-Up book. It is as if these men have occupied my home. In the main, it was the ease with which Kevin moved around these men and the ease they had with him. It seemed like I was watching a best friend giving service to best friends.There are two astonishing qualities of his writing. The first is the feeling of being present in the stories. It felt like I was eves dropping on two friends having coffee just enjoying the hell out of each other. The author disappeared. In painting one should not feel the painter. The same with special writing. The writing is so transparent... It is a first person script without the first person. The second astonishing quality is his control of the ”I”. We see and feel through the “I”. I kept waiting for the “I” to get in the way of the story but it doesn't. The humility that comes through the writing is one of its wonderful graces.Kevin truly produced a book with great merits in and of itself...he made the years disappear and we have the great fortune of knowing these men by the end of each chapter. That was a time for baseball and Kevin recreated it for a bunch of readers who would not know this time without it. Baseball should thank him for his passion in preserving this time and place. Great book!

I was captivated while reading this book. Kevin's knowledge of baseball and his enthusiasm in recalling his life collecting autographs has brought back so many childhood memories. This book is truly a look back in time when baseball was a game and not just a business. I recommend all sports fan read this and they like me remember our childhood heroes. I actually can’t tell you the last time I loved a book the way I loved this one. I grew up a passionate baseball fan as a child, and we had a hard breakup in high school for about 15 years. I’ve rediscovered a love for the game over the past 10 years or so ago, and this book took me back to that childhood passion I hadn’t really touched on since. I’d forgotten it. Not to say I’m not passionate about it now, but adult passion is just different...this hit on an ability for me to remember what it was like when I sent a prized 1987 Topps Jose Canseco card only to never get it back. The pain was real!Football filled the gap, and that’s where I got into autograph hunting, as well as memorabilia collecting. The human connection that Kevin Keating describes is entirely relatable to anyone that’s ever chased an autograph, or had an athlete toss them a ball in the stands.If you love baseball you should read this book.If you love collecting you should read this book.If you love them both, I just don’t think you’ll be able to put this book down. I enjoyed Mr. Keating's book tremendously. Like the author, I started collecting baseball autographs as a kid and still do to this day, and anyone else who fits that description will definitely find that reading Waiting for a Sign is time well spent. From his early days of graphing outside of team hotels with his father to the relationships that he has built with some of the game's greats in adulthood, I found every chapter of this book satisfying, and I can't wait to read the second volume.

It's obvious that Alex put a lot of work into this book and the reader will definitely be the beneficiary! I already see three areas where it will directly help my productivity. I also want to mention that a couple years ago I paid $15 for and took a Udemy course from this author on Local Marketing and the course was excellent. But what was REALLY BENEFICIAL is that he regularly holds 2 hour long Google Hangouts where you can ask him any questions and he will help you with concise suggestions to solve your most vexing problems! He even invites other experts along for the ride to give their suggestions too. I might point out that these Hangouts are 100% FREE. I am not aware of any other expert who freely devotes their time to help their students like this... I don't personally know Alex, but I wish more experts were as devoted to their customer's success . . . Bravo !

This book is a "must read" for folks like me who procrastinate, get overwhelmed with "big projects" on to-do list, and easily distracted. Alex writes with humor, provides great links for software, and suggestions to keep you focused. I particularly liked his exercises and challenges. I am following one of his exercises which particulrly intrigued me. That is to determine how I waste my time and to be conscious of all my distractions. Focus, like the author points out, is critical to becoming productive. For me, as a single person business owner, I find Alex's book very useful and will be reading it over and over again. Great information if you are serious about becoming more productive in your life!

I enjoyed this book. Mr. Genadinik put a lot of time researching and gathering productivity tips, techniques and tools. I appreciated the fact that he shared his own productivity downfalls and roadblocks and how he works to overcome them. Many of the items listed are common sense, but sometimes we just need to read it or hear something onece again before it finally sinks in. Love that some techniques and tools that I use on a regular basis (Pomodoro Technique and the Trello App) were mentioned. Both are extremely useful. All-in-all, a great productivity book to help you increase your productivity.

It is a great balance of boosting my immediate daily productivity and my long-term goals with goal setting techniques. I really feel like it will help me put my life on a path to long-term success. This is more than about productivity. It is about life mastery.

I teach with this book, and have been eagerly awaiting this revised edition. It does not disappoint! The Fiells have done their usual excellent work updating the book. There are new entries, existing entries that had aged have been refreshed, and tough decisions about what to eliminate to make room for the progress have been made gracefully. Because my students will wonder if older editions are comparable, I assume others will be curious, so here are the obvious changes:The new edition is about 40 pages longer than previous versions. There are 32 new entries to update and improve the content. Some are necessary and expected (to satisfy the Yves Béhar, Marc Newson, and Karim Rashid fans), while some are added to strengthen the historical narrative (Portsmouth Block Mills, Charles Babbage). The price tag for this new content is the 30 entries that have been removed. A careful reader might lament the loss of some (NASA, Sharp, Rubbermaid, Trevor Baylis…) but it would be impossible to complain about the decisions, as the book remains an excellent overview of industrial design in a publishing landscape that offers so few good options. Nearly 20 entries have been substantially updated to bring their subjects into the decade since the book was last revised.One other advantage is printing technology; this edition is in full color, and it makes what was already a visual celebration even more satisfying. Even the pictures of designers and patent reproductions benefit from richer tones. All entries that used to have black and white images have been upgraded to full color pictures.This is a LOT of book and a lot of great writing, editing, and information for the price, and remains a clear choice for learning about industrial design and its history.

Not the most current volume, but reasonably priced. If you're interested in Industrial Design or product design in general, you can't go wrong with this. There are a lot of references to 'landmark' products that are not shown, but if you read it with your tablet next to you, like I do, you can be as deep as you wish. If you are into digging information, one page can branch out into multiple dimensions of learning when using along a tablet or laptop. Consider it an index, rather than an all-encompassing bible.

a decent, old design book, hasnt really aged well, but still well written and informative.. The bar is definitely much higher now though.

Every Taschen book I have gotten is of superior quality and not that expensive. This book is no exception. Beautiful pages with lots of information about designers and companies. This deserves to be on your bookshelf should you need a quick reference.

A good reference book for those interested in design .It is probably not exhaustive and there may some be some entries left out individuals will look for but this is hardly surprising given the broad scope of the material.i was very pleased with this purchase.
