Gorgeous book, worth every penny. If you're wanting to experience the original classics that led to the movies we enjoy today, this is how to do it in style. Buying these beautiful omnibus collections is a far better use of money than purchasing the dreck that Marvel is currently producing. This is the second omnibus I've purchased, the first being Captain America Vol. 1, and you can bet I'll be purchasing many more in the months to come.

Love the product, it has many issues of the original spiderman comics that I grew up with when reading it from my uncles original comics. Only different is that the color are more vivid and its all in one book to read instead of 10 different comic issues I have to look for. I will be waiting for all of these to go on sale so I can complete the collection without breaking the bank.

Ordered This On Christmas Day Last Year... It's Spectacular. It's Amazing. It's Like An Amazing Fantasy!

The Amazing Spiderman started out as a superhero who had to fight internal battles as well as criminals and supervillians. He also had problems of everyday life that didn't get resolved by the end of the story, at least not usually. The first ten stories introduces some lasting characters of the Spiderman series, such as his Aunt May and J.Jonah. Jameson, who can never be mistaken for Superman' s boss, Perry White. Spiderman also starts out as a teenager going to highshcool where he is an awkward outsider trying to find a way to fit in. He becomes a hero somewhat reluctantly after his Uncle Ben is murdered by a criminal who he could have stopped earlier. And then the fun begins...

This omnibus volume collects one of the original Amazing Spider Man comics from the 60's along with the annual issue featuring the Sinister Six. Everything is reprinted and restored to what it should've been and it has a great story telling on Peter Parker's journey in becoming a hero of New York City. If you are a fan of Spider Man then please do pick this up and don't miss out on this excitement.The other issues are in other omnibus volumes.

There is something special now about those HUGE volumes of collected Marvels, DC:s etc in full color, hard cover and even letter pages here and there. And so heavy that reading them in bed is hard work......This Spiderman beginning-of-it-all is really a must for me. Marvel came to Sweden in the late 60's and the first 30 or so of the Spiderman stories were never published until in the 80's so we started directly with post-Ditko. But Romita's strong pencil work was probably better for the bw-publications that was the common comic-book standard then.But I love this volume and it looks very good alongside the others

I don't know what I love more about this collection: the wonderful soap-opera style stories by Stan Lee, or the incredible artwork of jazzy John Romita. How about both? Lee and Romita made one heck of a great duo with their stories about everyone's favorite wall-crawler. I couldn't get enough of this omnibus! It starts off with the classic issue #39, where the Green Goblin discovers that Spiderman is Peter Parker and reveals himself to be Norman Osborn! We also get the first full appearance of Mary Jane, the debut of Captain George Stacey and so much more! This book comes in at almost 1,000 pages. It's massive and a fun read from start to finish! If you ever wanted to read the classic Lee/Romita issues, this is your best bet with a price that can't be beat!

The best thing about this Marvel Masterworks is that it collects Spiderman from the very beginning so you start fresh with issue 1 and are introduced to many of his classic villains such as Doctor Octopus. That alone makes it worth buying, Especially to those who are curious about the Spiderman character and want to start fresh as well as the old school fans.That being said, The one thing I do care for is that the comics are very straight forward plot wise. No real depth to them and are incredibly predictable. It also doesn't help that there are no two-part comics or a series of comics centered around a single villain, It's all just a one shot comic with a different villain each time. The dialogue also comes off as very kiddish and would easily appeal to younger readers far more than adults.Still, for 4 dollars (at least that's the price it was when I bought and the price it is as I post this review), It's too good to pass up and I would definitely recommend buying.

About the Author

Charles M. Schulz was born November 25, 1922, in Minneapolis. His destiny was foreshadowed when an uncle gave him, at the age of two days, the nickname Sparky (after the racehorse Spark Plug in the newspaper strip Barney Google).In his senior year in high school, his mother noticed an ad in a local newspaper for a correspondence school, Federal Schools (later called Art Instruction Schools). Schulz passed the talent test, completed the course, and began trying, unsuccessfully, to sell gag cartoons to magazines. (His first published drawing was of his dog, Spike, and appeared in a 1937 Ripley's Believe It or Not! installment.) Between 1948 and 1950, he succeeded in selling 17 cartoons to the Saturday Evening Post―as well as, to the local St. Paul Pioneer Press, a weekly comic feature called Li'l Folks. It was run in the women's section and paid $10 a week. After writing and drawing the feature for two years, Schulz asked for a better location in the paper or for daily exposure, as well as a raise. When he was turned down on all three counts, he quit.He started submitting strips to the newspaper syndicates. In the spring of 1950, he received a letter from the United Feature Syndicate, announcing their interest in his submission, Li'l Folks. Schulz boarded a train in June for New York City; more interested in doing a strip than a panel, he also brought along the first installments of what would become Peanuts―and that was what sold. (The title, which Schulz loathed to his dying day, was imposed by the syndicate.) If you are a Peanuts fan it just does not get better than this. This is Schulz at his best. The 70s saw him at his artistic and creative best. The book set is advertised as soft cover but is, in fact, a set of two hard cover books. The pages are oversized and the strips are printed on pages made of high quality stock. The colorng of the strips is top notch.

The book is exactly what it advertises— Peanuts comic strips in the 1970s, arguably the finest run of the strip. I can’t add anything to that or take anything away from it.

I grew up with an emotionally abusive father. It was crushing. I was an only child and my mother had already been cowed into submission. The best I could do was to keep it together until college, where I got as far away as possible and made sure I had a way to pay for it so he couldn't use money as another form of leverage to continue the abuse. It wasn't easy. I would have killed for a resource like this that is incredibly practical and useful. When you're in the middle of the abuse, knowing what to say is the hardest part. This would have given me at least some ammunition to fight back and help my mother do the same. I took one star off because the book is specifically geared toward couples, not other relationships like parent/child (though you could certainly adapt some of the scripts, there is a built-in power dynamic in a parent-child relationship that will make some of the scripts inapplicable). I'd love to see the author write a book on this subject specifically for the parent-child relationship. I know that many people would benefit, just as they will from this book. Recommend.

Not bad. Mainly a sequential list of statements that lead up to disassociating with an impossible person. It solidified in my mind that usually exit is the only solution. There really is no empowerment within a relationship with a narcissistic abuser.

Just started it but it was enlightening for me. There are things that rang true. I recommend reading all you can, to get past the abuse . After thatread about self esteem and fighting to know yoursel very better better better and never get n that position again be mate,friend or relative.

This book helped me get clear on what is acceptable and what is not, and it helped me know what to say when in the thick of things. It has changed my life, my relationship is better because I finally understand how to respond effectively to words and behaviors that were detrimental to us. It has empowered me, it has changed me, it has changed my relationship. Many thanks to Barrie Davenport.

Loved the way this book specifically identifies and calls out behaviors that are abusive and debilitating and gives power back to the person on the receiving end. Highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't always express themselves well in speaking. If you tend to express yourself well when writing things out - this book will be especially helpful!

I need all the help I can get to get out of my abusive relationship. This book is straight forward, and informative. Thank you for all your descriptive points. All very well explained.

Glad someone helps with what would seem easy but is hard when living under the constant underlying current of stress from emotional abuse and/or any other abuse.In looking at the list of her many other books, I wish they could all be compiled into one or two books to eliminate ordering so many, as they all seem to apply to the same topic, just broken apart.
